The former first lady of Ohio, Frances Strickland, traveled alone to the Democratic National Convention. She says her husband 鈥� former Gov. Ted Strickland 鈥� will arrive later in the week. But she says she was determined to be at the DNC on day one.
鈥淗e didn鈥檛 know what his schedule was, but I was going to be where we were making history, whether he could come or not. I鈥檓 old enough that I know what all women have gone through to get to this, so I鈥檓 really happy to be here.鈥�
Ted Strickland, who鈥檚 on the ballot this fall in a tough race against incumbent Republican Sen. Rob Portman, is a Clinton delegate at the convention.
